Cavo has returned with "Thick As Thieves," the first single and title track from the band's upcoming third album. It's been more than two years since Cavo issued its major label debut, 2009's Bright Nights And Dark Days, with the group also changing labels during the interim. Frontman Casey Walker says that the song "Thick As Thieves" sums up the band's state of mind during that break.

He explained, "We all sat down and said you know what one thing that nobody can take away from us is our ability to write songs, to be a band, to be friends, and to know who we are. So we wrote this song and it's all about us coming back to the point of us realizing that nobody can take that from us."

"Thick As Thieves" is available on iTunes now, with a video making its way online as well. The album is due out sometime in the first few months of 2012.

The band has posted a request at its website for fans to send in photos of the group from concerts, backstage meet-and-greets and other occasions. The pictures will appear in a collage that will appear on the cover of the new record.

Slash has finished the first phase of recording for his second solo album and announced three of the song titles on VH1 Classic's That Metal Show. The three tunes he named are "Halo," "Standing In The Sun" and "Bad Rain," although he did not play any of them on the program. Slash's new disc, which will follow up last year's acclaimed solo debut, will tentatively arrive next April.

Slash and his band have been working on the new record at Barefoot Recording in Hollywood,California.

While Slash's self-titled debut featured a different guest vocalist on each track, as well as various other musicians, the new record is being laid down with his touring band.

The lineup includes singer Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge, guitarist Bobby Schneck, bassist Todd Kerns and ex-Theory Of A Deadman drummer Brent Fitz.

Slash's first solo effort featured guest appearances from Ian Astbury, Chris Cornell,Fergie, Dave Grohl, Kid Rock, Lemmy Kilmister, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Duff McKagan, Ozzy Osbourne and others.

Evanescence's self-titled third album debuted at Number One on the Billboard album chart on yesterday selling 127,000 copies in its first week of release. The band's last record, 2006'sThe Open Door, also entered the chart in the top spot, but moved a much heftier 447,000 copies to get there.

For the first time in a long time, two rock albums debuted in the Top Three this week. Five Finger Death Punch's third effort, American Capitalist, arrived at Number Three with 91,000 copies sold. The chart and sales number both represent career highs for the Las Vegasgroup.

Five Finger's last release, 2009's War Is The Answer, debuted at Number Seven with 44,000 copies sold.

Both acts are on tour now. Evanescence plays in Milwaukee on Friday, while Five Finger Death Punch hits Broomfield, Colorado on Saturday.

Incubus hit a milestone this year: the band has been in existence for 20 years, with singerBrandon Boyd, drummer Jose Pasillas and guitarist Mike Einzinger putting the group together in 1991. But after coming back in 2011 from a five-year break, bassist Ben Kenneysays that the biggest question facing the group was whether they were still relevant. He explained, "The making of music wasn't the hard part. For us it was 'Are we going to be relevant?' 'Are we going to able to keep doing what we are doing because everything is changing so fast around us?' Music is getting louder and louder and louder and it seems like we are not part of that whole thing."

Kenney, the former Roots member who joined Incubus in 2003, said about reaching the two-decade landmark, "It was 20 years ago this year that the guys started the band. Of course they were like 12 . . . It's a good 20 because we don't look like a band who have been doing it for 20 years."

Incubus released its seventh studio album, If Not Now, When?, in July. The latest single from the CD is "Promises, Promises."

The band just wrapped up a North American tour last Friday (October 14th) in Fresno,California, and will now head to Europe for the rest of this year and Australia in early 2012.
